Huawei, ZTE Respectively Ink Purchasing Deals with US Companies

- Huawei announced on February 18, 2012 that the company will sign OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) contracts with US Qualcomm, Broadcom, and Avago, according to a Huawei's press release. It is reported that the contracts will value at approximately US$6 billion. As per the deals, Huawei will purchase parts and components from these companies.

- Meanwhile, ZTE said on February 20, 2012 that the company has signed framework agreements with Qualcomm and Broadcom, according to the Wall Street Journal. ZTE is projected to purchase at least US$5 billion worth of chipsets from Qualcomm between 2012 and 2015 and buy at least US$1 billion worth of chipsets from Broadcom between 2012 and 2014.
